he's at least sixty something and this man has drank enough Pitt cola to kill a horse so he thinks he's finally infertile, so what would you two have to worry about?

unfortunately both of y'all are idiots and are just agreeing with this halfassed science, raw dogging like some rabbits each chance you get till one day you're waking up with a sore chest and you're more emotional than usual, and holy shit when was the last time you had a period?

you're fine with this news. now you've got a little piece of this old fart you've somehow fallen head over heels for, and you're comfortable with your life so far. handling a baby is gonna be hard, duh, but you were getting bored with sitting at the mystery shack register by yourself anyway.

the issue is, how do you bring this up to Stan?

at first, you really do think that Stanley's just gonna escape on boat when you show him the test but all he does is sink to his knees. they do crack audibly, but the look on Stan's face keeps you from laughing or cracking a joke to break this silent tension.

"uhh.. Stan?" He's not even paying attention to you-- he's rubbing your still flat stomach and gazing at it with adoration, almost wonder. then you finally realize he's crying. he'd never thought he was going to be worth anything his entire life, especially after all the loss he'd faced.

but somehow, he's got his brother back, his shack is still paying the bills and then some, and now the one thing he'd never got to have-- a family of his own with a person he'd loved-- it's coming true?

finally he's looking up at you, your face a bit more confused and nervous than anything, because you still haven't heard what you needed to hear.

I want this kid as much as you do.

of course, the stubborn bastard isn't much of a softy to say that. with a good sniffle and a wipe of his eye, he gives a trembling grin.

"Oh, doll.. I'm gonna be so old when this little peanut grows up."

I have a few things but it's likely mostly headcanons that I consider somewhat disconnected from my analysis.

Curly's parents had him old, only child, died shortly after he graduated and got the pony express position. It was the last big thing they saw him do which is a reason he stayed for so long.

Doesn't admit how much their death affected him

Jimmy has a largish family. One of the cases of too many kids to keep tract of, parent never really noticed any of them nor their behaviors

Anya lived in a lot of houses growing up, regular supportive family that just struggled to support themselves.

Became a nurse largely to avoid their financial struggles but mostly because she felt too many people weren't being cared for and advocated for in the world properly

Swansea likes high top sneakers most. Likes how snug they fit and how they shield his ankles at work

Curly has a bit of a caffeine problem since he can’t sleep. Can occasionally be found wandering the ship at “night” when he had some too late or just couldn’t sleep.

Daisuke knows a little about a lot of things. Starts conversations with “did you know” a lot but please don’t ask him deeper questions

Curly has known Jimmy longer but has worked with Anya and Swansea longer, met them during his middle years, met Jimmy shortly before college.

Swansea rents a house, Daisuke’s family lives in a big nice apartment, Curly has a condo, Anya live in a small one bedroom apartment and Jimmy has a studio.

Curly's home is very disconcerting. It's too normal to a like uncanny degree.

Anya is ambidextrous but prefers her left.

Anya and Curly are both not native English speakers so occasionally they forget words and bond over the mutual mocking they get from the rest of the crew. Daisuke knows some Japanese but is still learning, never picked it up as a kid

Only Swansea and Daisuke know how to drive, Earth in my mind is very post capitalist so only older people and like the extremely wealthy can afford cars.

It's also like walkable just due to how many businesses are in your face. Probably strict living vs shopping districts

I have more but the way that I headcanon about them is like too long.

riza is ed's mom. roy is the guy who happens to be dating his mom

noway. Ed thinks Riza is hot and attractive and also likes and respects her. Since she is always direct, respectful and honest to him. Riza relates to him. She’s not his mother figure. Pinako and Izumi already fill that roll. Izumi is closer to his mother’s age and Pinako actually raised him and Al after they became orphans.

Idk if he suspects if Roy has a relationship with her. Maybe he just thinks it sucks she also has to deal with that asshole too, and she should quit and find a better boss/job. Obviously he learns later why she is loyal to Mustang but Ed still doesn’t like how Roy stresses her out.
